2015 Conference

On behalf of the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism and our co-organizer Myanmar Tourism Federation, Sphere Conferences is again proud to announce that the 3rd annual Myanmar Hospitality and Tourism Conference 2015 ended with resounding success!

Being the only investment and discussion platform focusing on the hospitality and tourism sector in Myanmar, the two days conference brought together over 200 hospitality and tourism professionals and investors across Asia and beyond, with the same goal of understanding the developments and opportunities Myanmar has to offer. We had the honour of H.E. U Htay Aung, Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism and 5 other Union Ministers, deputy ministers, Ambassadors, and Director Generals who graced the event as guests-of-honour.

The reason behind the creation of Myanmar’s only hospitality and tourism conference is to provide a platform where hospitality professionals can gather and learn from one another, to network and form business relationships that would help leapfrog their aspirations and projects for Asia’s final frontier.

MHTC has served as the annual gathering for business associates, where old friends meet, where new friendships are forged. The event, with the support of the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism and the Myanmar Tourism Federation has grown year on year. This 3rd edition is special. Not only because it is held for the very first time in Myanmar’s beautiful capital, Nay Pyi Taw, thereby encouraging more participation from the nearby regions; but also because it was packed with lots of fun filled activities, that made the 2 days conference experience a memorable one.

Opening on such a high note, the conference saw many networking activities and lively discussions surrounding topics such as the Visionaries Perspective on navigating through Myanmar’s dynamic hotel market, owner-operator relationships with tips on how to pursuit an ideal operator and what models are suitable for the Myanmar market on Day 1 to greater focus on operational issues and challenges faced by the local hoteliers, such as human capital and creating unique customer experiences as a differentiating factor on Day 2. Besides these lively presentations and discussions, the audience also had the opportunity to hear and see for themselves the hospitality and tourism products showcase on the latest and upcoming hotel projects across the country.

In our midst were international brands such as Hilton, Keppel Land, Kempinski, Tangram, Accor, Dusit, Centara, Melia, Chatrium, MasterCard, Rolls Royce Motorcars, as well as leading local brands like Tharabar Gate, Clover Hotels Group, Amazing Group, Ngapali Bay Villas and Spa Resort etc,  who were there to share experiences and open new markets.

The attendees were also given a special treat with a never-before special site visit to the Hluttaw or Parliament House.

We would like to thank our sponsors and partners for their support in making this event a success and look forward to being the mainstay event for Myanmar’s hospitality and tourism sector.

See you next year!
